Katherine Dan de Vate(هل هذا ملفك؟)

Katherine Van de Vate translates modern Arabic fiction into English. Prior to that, she served as an American diplomat in the Middle East and a curator of Arabic books at the British Library and Princeton University. Her translations have been published in Words Without Borders, Asymptote, ArabLit Quarterly, Y’allah, and elsewhere. Her translation of Badriyah Al Badri’s novel The Last Crossing (al-Ubur al-Akhir) will appear in 2023.
