Biographies of Randa Abdel Fattah

Randa Abdel-Fattah is a prominent Palestinian Egyptian Muslim author, academic, human rights advocate, former lawyer and mother of four children. The award-winning author of eleven novels, published and translated in over 20 countries, Randa writes across a wide range of genres and actively seeks to translate her academic work into creative interventions which reshape dominant narratives around race, human rights, multiculturalism and identity in popular culture. Her most recent non-fiction book, Coming of Age in the War on Terror, was shortlisted for the 2022 Stella Awards, the 2022 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards and the 2022 NSW Premier's Literary Awards.

رندة عبد الفتاح، كاتبة فلسطينية مصرية مسلمة وأكاديمية منخرطة في الدفاع عن القضية الفلسطينية ومناهضة التمييز العنصري. عملت سابقًا في مجال المحاماة، وألّفت 11 كتابًا حازت العديد من الجوائز ونُشرت في أكثر من 20 دولة، وقد جرى تحويل العديد من مؤلفاتها إلى أعمال مسرحية في كل من الولايات المتحدة وأستراليا.

كما أُدرجت روايتها للأطفال "حينما كان للشوارع أسماء"، الحائزة على عدة جوائز وتدور أحداثها في فلسطين، ضمن المناهج الدراسية الأسترالية وكانت من بين أفضل 100 كتاب في مكتبة نيويورك، وقد حولتها شركة "Monkey Baa" للفنون المسرحية إلى عمل مسرحي عُرض أمام طلاب المدارس في أستراليا.

رندة هي أيضًا زميلة أبحاث ما بعد الدكتوراه في قسم علم الاجتماع في جامعة ماكواري، وأحدث كتاب لها هو "Coming of Age in the War on Terror". تعيش رندة في مدينة سيدني بأستراليا مع زوجها وأطفالها الأربعة.
