Biographies of Nadje Al-Ali

Nadje Al-Ali is Robert Family Professor of International Studies and Professor of Anthropology and Middle East Studies. Her main research interests revolve around feminist activism and gendered mobilization, with a focus on Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey and the Kurdish political movement. Her publications include What kind of Liberation? نادية صادق العلي كاتبة أكاديمية وأستاذة جامعية عراقية ولدت عام 1966 في ألمانيا لأب عراقي وأم ألمانية، ونشأت وتلقت دراستها الأولية في ألمانيا ثم عاشت بضع سنوات في مصر قبل أن تستقر في بريطانيا، وهي تعمل حالياً أستاذة محاضرة في علم الإنسان الاجتماعي في مدرسة الدراسات الشرقية والإفريقية (SOAS) وهي كلية تابعة لجامعة لندن، وكذلك هي تشغل منصب رئيسة مؤسسة دراسات الشرق الأوسط النسوية، وأيضا هي عضو في دورية The Feminist Review Collective.

حصلت ناديا العلي على شهادة البكالوريوس من جامعة آريزونا في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية, وشهادة الماجستير من جامعة القاهرة ثم شهادة الدكتوراه في عام 1998.
