Salam Al-Rassi (1911 - April 2003) is a Lebanese writer. He was born in Marjayoun in Lebanon. He is known as "Abi Ali". He is pioneered as one of the heritage pillars in storytelling, proverbs, folklore, and everything related to the Lebanese culture generally, and southern Lebanon specifically. Salam al-Rassi was known as the “Sheikh of Popular Literature,” and his writings are characterized by the smoothness of style and the ability to mix classical and spoken language. Salam also presented many television episodes on Lebanon TV in the early nineties.
He passed away on 19 April 2003 and was buried in Beirut.
