Biographies of Emily Nasrallah

Emily Nasrallah, maiden name "Abi Rashed" was born July 6, 1931 in Kfeir village, South Lebanon. She passed away on March 13, 2018, in her home in Beirut. Emily started her formal education in the elementary public school of Kfeir. With the support of her uncle she moved from Kfeir to complete her secondary education in Shoueifat National College, near Beirut, and went on to university at the Beirut University College (now the Lebanese American University) and on to the American University of Beirut where she received her B.A. Degree in Education in 1958. املي نصراللّه (أبي راشد) ولدت في 6 تموز ١٩٣١ في كوكبا، جنوب لبنان. توفيت في ١٣ آذار ٢٠١٨ في منزلها في رأس بيروت. وكانت نشأتها في الكفير، بلدة أمها. بدأت دراستها الإبتدائية في المدرسة الرسمية، الكفير، ثم تابعت دراستها الثانوية في الكلية الوطنية – الشويفات، قرب بيروت. ومنها انتقلت إلى كلية بيروت الجامعية، ثم الجامعة الأميركية حيث تخرّجت بشهادة بكالوريوس في العام ١٩٥٨. في العام ١٩٥٧ تزوجت الكيميائي فيليب نصراللّه، من زحلة، لبنان. وأنشأا معاً عائلة مؤلَّفة من أربعة أولاد: رمزي، مها، خليل ومنى. روائية، وقصصية، عملت فترة في التدريس والصحافة. ناضلت من أجل حرّية المرأة، وذلك من خلال قلمها أو مواقفها الإنسانية. بدأت عملها الصحفي عندما كانت طالبة في الجامعة، وهي مسجّلة في نقابة الصحافة منذ خمسين سنة. روايتها...
