Biographies of Bady Dalloul

The Franco-Syrian artist Bady Dalloul was born in Paris in 1986, and is the first artist who has been able to go to Villa Kujoyama, in Japan, to do a residency in 2021. His work revolves around a group of Syrians settled in Japan, and is called Mon Pays imaginaire (My Imaginary Country).

His work imbued with a political, sociological and historical dimension confronts and creates a dialogue between the imagined and the real, calling into question the logic of the writing of History. Bady Dalloul uses different mediums: writing, performance, drawing, video and object.

بادي دلّول تخرّج من الكليّة الوطنيّة للفنون في باريس عام 2015، وتشمل أعماله النصوص، واللوحات، والفيديو، وتركيب الأشياء. يجمع في أعماله ما بين الخياليّ والحقيقيّ، ويسائلهما، إضافة إلى مساءلة كيفيّة كتابة التاريخ.
