The Erotic Potential of My Wife (Telegram) was his first novel to be translated into English. His most recent novel, Delicacy has sold one million copies in France and is now a major motion picture starring Audrey Tatou. He lives in Paris.

David Foenkinos, born 28 October 1974 in Paris, is a French novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director who studied both literature and music in Paris. His novel La délicatesse is a bestseller in France. A film based on the book was released in December 2011, with Audrey Tautou as the main character.
