Nathaniel A. Miller has a PhD in Arabic literature from the University of Chicago (2016) and taught and researched at the University of Cambridge from 2016โ2021. He is currently a research fellow in Arabic Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi. He specializes in pre-modern Arabic poetry, with a particular research focus on the interpretation of space and geography in two periods, the pre- and early Islamic (500โ750) and the Ayyubid (1171โ1250). His articles have appeared or are forthcoming in Arabica, Mediterranean Studies, Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society, Bulletin of the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), and al-'Usur al-Wusta. He translates Arabic poetry daily on Twitter @ClassyArabic.
