Samira Azzam (Arabic: سميرة عزام) (13 September 1927 – 8 August 1967) was a Palestinian writer, broadcaster, and translator known for her collections of short stories. In 1948, Azzam fled Palestine with her husband and family in the Nakba. Her collections of stories are renowned for examining the entirety of the Palestinian identity during this time period. Samira Azzam (1927–1967) was born in Acre, Palestine, and began publishing short stories in the journal Falastin in her teens. A journalist and prolific English-Arabic translator of Pearl Buck, Somerset Maugham, John Steinbeck, and others, she also authored several collections of short stories and had been working on a novel when she died of a heart attack at just 40 years old. A collection of her short stories, titled Out of Time: The Collected Stories of Samira Azzam was published in Ranya Abdelrahman’s translation by ALQ Books in 2022.

سميرة عزام ( 13 سبتمبر 1927- 8 أغسطس 1967)، كاتبة وصحفية فلسطينية ولدت في مدينة عكا بفلسطين، لقبت برائدة القصة القصيرة في فلسطين، اشتهرت بمجموعاتها القصصية التي تؤكد على الهوية الفلسطينية. نشرت مجموعتها القصصية الأولى عام 1954 بعنوان "أشياء صغيرة" تحدثت فيها عن دور المرأة في المجتمع الفلسطيني. كتبت العديد من المنشورات النسائية وترجمت الكلاسيكية الإنجليزية إلى اللغة العربية. أصبحت ناشطة سياسية في الستينيات وساهمت في تأسيس جبهة التحرير الفلسطينية كما شاركت في تحرير جريدة «الشعب» مع بدر شاكر السياب...
