Mahrousa was founded by Faried Zahran in 1986, as an independent publishing house, research and information center. Mahrousa three pillars are:

1. Understanding and criticizing the norms, while encountering political, religious or ethical authoritarianism.
2. Looking forward to the dilemmas of the nowness and the future, while reintroducing history materialistically.
3. Provoking repetition and isolation, adopting science and philosophy as a collective sanctuary to humanity, and introducing literature and art as an individualistic phenomenon of transcendence.
