Mahrousa was founded by Faried Zahran in 1986, as an independent publishing house, research and information center. Mahrousa three pillars are:
- Understanding and criticizing the norms, while encountering political, religious or ethical authoritarianism.
- Looking forward to the dilemmas of the nowness and the future, while reintroducing history materialistically.
- Provoking repetition and isolation, adopting science and philosophy as a collective sanctuary to humanity, and introducing literature and art as an individualistic phenomenon of transcendence.
